About the Author

Steve Kaczmarek is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (FSA, MAAA). He has over 30 years of experience working on numerous public and private health care systems. His prior roles include serving as the product development actuary for one of the nation’s largest health insurers and serving as the business financial officer for a six-million-member business. He has twenty years of consulting experience working with many of the nation’s largest health insurers on private health insurance business and public health programs. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the United States Military Academy and served in the Army for seven years before becoming an actuary.
